Introduction to Nouns

What is a Noun?

noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. Nouns can be singular (one) or plural (more than one).

Types of Nouns:

Countable and Uncountable Nouns

  • Countable Nouns: These nouns can be counted. They have singular and plural forms.
    • Example:
      • One apple (singular)
      • Two apples (plural)
  • Uncountable Nouns: These nouns cannot be counted. They usually do not have a plural form.
    • Example:
      • Water (not waters)
      • Rice (not rices)

In our next lesson, I will explain countable and uncountable nouns in detail. We will explore how to identify these types of nouns and understand their differences.
